I was first introduced to Dr. Glezer and her group practice by my PCP, and funny enough a couple of my friends had been former patients as well and very enthusiastically referred me her way too. I’ve seen them twice due to a series of complications after my pregnancy and I’ve never dealt with anyone so caring, helpful, and knowledgeable. What a top notch group of doctors! The intake process, the treatment options, and the thorough follow ups have all been fantastic and really positively impactful on me. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Seeing a psychiatrist in San Jose, and across California, can be difficult due to a shortage of providers, high demand, and long waitlists. Many don’t accept insurance, making care less accessible, and some require referrals, adding extra steps. Burnout and retirements further strain the system, while limited appointment availability makes scheduling tough. These factors create significant barriers for those seeking mental health support.

At Women’s Wellness Psychiatry we have an expert team of reproductive & holistic psychiatrists and offer appointment availability within a week. If interested, please book your free consult with our founder & head Psychiatrist, Dr. Glezer, as your first step.

  • The costs of seeing a psychiatrist in San Jose, and across CA, will vary considerably depending on factors like location, education & experience of the clinicians, in vs. out-of-network, and others. Average ranges for an initial assessment are $400-700, and for follow up visits are $250-500.

Women’s Wellness Psychiatry specializes in providing comprehensive mental health care that demands a personalized, tailor-made approach. As such, we do not follow the one-size-fits-all treatment guidelines dictated by most insurance companies and are out-of-network. Our fees are commensurate with our unique expertise and can be viewed under the Services/Rates page.

  • Yes, in most cases, you can go straight to a psychiatrist without a referral, especially if you’re paying out of pocket. However, if you're using insurance, some plans require a referral from a primary care doctor. It also depends on where you live—some healthcare systems or clinics might have their own rules.

  • A reproductive psychiatrist evaluates and treats conditions across the reproductive lifespan, which often have a hormonal component. This includes premenstrual syndromes, perinatal and postpartum conditions, and perimenopausal challenges.

  • No. We will work together to decide if medications would be a helpful part of your treatment plan. However, for many patients, psychotherapy and complimentary treatment can be very effective. There is good research on the success of psychotherapy and even how it changes our brain chemistry.

  • My goal is to provide personalized care without dictation of treatment by an insurance company or administrator. Therefore, at this time, I do not accept any insurance plans.

If you have a PPO plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company for out of network services. If so, I am happy to provide a monthly invoice (AKA superbill) to submit. I recommend you contact your insurance company and check. Here are several questions to consider asking:

** Do I have an annual deductive for outpatient mental health services with a psychiatrist?

** How much is my co-pay or co-insurance per visit?

** How many visits do I have annually?

** Are there limitations on the conditions/diagnoses that can be reimbursed?

You can also consider using your FSA (Flexible Savings Account) for reimbursement of service fees.
