INTRODUCTION

If you’ve ever felt that your health concerns were minimized, misunderstood, or brushed aside, you’re not alone — and psychiatry hasn’t always done better. That experience is a big reason I chose to focus my practice on caring for women across the reproductive lifespan. It’s an area of medicine that has long been overlooked, and one where careful, attentive psychiatric care truly matters.

When we work together, my priority is to understand your experience — not just your symptoms. I aim to listen closely, take your concerns seriously, and offer care that is thoughtful, individualized, and compassionate. My hope is that you feel supported, respected, and genuinely cared for at every step.

PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

As a reproductive psychiatrist, I pay close attention to current research in my field and take a whole-body approach to developing treatment plans. I consider many aspects of mental health, assessing factors from hormones, genetics, and medical conditions to lifestyle, environment, and social context. When providing recommendations, I partner with my patients and educate them fully to make treatment decisions in line with their values.

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for taking this important step toward getting the support you deserve. I believe that every stage of your reproductive journey—from navigating infertility to the transition into parenthood—deserves a space where you feel truly heard and expertly held. With over a decade of dedicated experience in perinatal mental health, my career has been rooted in both clinical excellence and the mentorship of the next generation of physicians.

I am proud to have founded a reproductive psychiatry fellowship to train other clinicians in this vital work, and I bring that same depth of leadership and specialized knowledge to our partnership. I am honored to join the team at Women’s Wellness Psychiatry, where I look forward to helping you navigate your unique path with clarity and compassion.

PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

I believe that effective care is a true partnership—one where your personal values and goals are the compass for our work together. My approach is holistic and evidence-based, but it is always tailored to the unique rhythm of your life. A BIT MORE ABOUT ME

I am a proud Latina from New Mexico, raised by strong women who taught me to believe in myself and care for others. These experiences shaped my commitment to supporting women and their families with compassion, respect, and understanding. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling to new places, and cooking — especially New Mexican food.

INTRODUCTION

I decided to focus on women’s health and wellness after my own experiences navigating pregnancy and perimenopause—times that gave me a deeply personal understanding of how complex, and often overlooked, these transitions can be for women. Those experiences shaped not only what I do, but how I show up as a physician.

I chose to attend both an osteopathic medical school and residency program because I was drawn to the philosophy that honors the body as an interconnected, self-healing system. That perspective continues to ground my work as a holistic psychiatrist, where I believe that true healing begins with being seen, heard, and understood as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms.

PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

In my practice, I support women across every stage of life—from the emotional and physical shifts of PMS and postpartum to the often disorienting changes of perimenopause and beyond. I will take an integrative approach to your care that weaves together mental health, hormones, lifestyle, nutrition, and nervous system support. When we work together, my hope is that you feel safe to share your full experience and confident that it will be met with care and curiosity. Treatment is never one-size-fits-all; it’s something we shape together, guided by your story, your values, and what truly feels like healing to you.

INTRODUCTION

My own journey into motherhood inspired me to specialize in women’s mental health. Decreasing the loneliness that women often experience during complex hormonal changes motivates me to keep exploring new methods to provide treatment and support during these vulnerable times. When our hormones fluctuate significantly, we often witness a re-activation of past traumas, disordered eating patterns, anxieties and mood changes. I am passionate about helping my patients understand these changes and feel more empowered in their bodies and mind.

PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

I strive to create a safe space where patients can explore their feelings and thoughts while we support their overall well-being with medications, supplements and lifestyle modifications.  I specialize in trauma informed care and in exploring the impact of the past on the current challenges that patients may be experiencing. I provide a range of different therapy modalities, including psychodynamic, CBT and attachment base, depending on the specific needs of each patient.

INTRODUCTION

I am passionate about supporting women through life’s many transitions, from the everyday to long-term goals.  What I love most about my work is the opportunity to walk alongside my patients as they move toward greater joy, strength, and vibrancy. My mission is to offer more than a focus on symptoms, with an emphasis on well-being and quality of life, by providing a space where we can address not only each individual’s top concerns but also their strengths.

With this approach, we can make room for the goals or hopes that are rarely emphasized when working from the traditional medical approach, which primarily focuses on symptoms or functioning. I believe investing in and prioritizing women’s health and well-being has a profound ripple effect, a belief that drives my philosophy and approach to patient care.

PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

My approach is collaborative, warm, and integrative.  I center your goals and preferences while drawing from a range of tools, including lifestyle modifications, psychotherapy, lab and genetic testing, or medications and evidence-based supplements. As an advocate and women’s mental health expert who is passionate about education, I seek to empower you with expert guidance, knowledge, and resources to support the best treatment path that fits your goals and meets your needs.

We will work together to explore what feels most supportive for you, with room for curiosity, flexibility, and whole-person care. I believe in empowering patients with knowledge and choice, and in creating a space where your voice leads the way.
