FAQs

Still have questions? Please reach out directly and we will be glad to answer.

  • Patients seeking a psychiatrist in Walnut Creek and across CA and who intend to pay out-of-pocket are not required to obtain a referral from a primary care physician. This allows for direct access to psychiatrists and empowers women to seek specialized treatment without navigating additional administrative steps.

  • The costs of seeing a psychiatrist in Walnut Creek, and across CA, will vary considerably depending on factors like location, education & experience of the clinicians, in vs. out-of-network, and others. Women’s Wellness Psychiatry specializes in providing comprehensive mental health care that demands a personalized, tailor-made approach. As such, we do not follow the one-size-fits-all treatment guidelines dictated by most insurance companies and are out-of-network. Our fees are commensurate with our unique expertise and can be viewed under the Services/Rates page.

  • We wholeheartedly agree that access to quality psychiatric care remains a challenge for many patients across the state. At Women’s Wellness Psychiatry, with our main office in Walnut Creek and Telehealth care throughout CA, we have an expert team of Reproductive & Holistic Psychiatrists and offer appointment availability within a week. If interested, please book your free consult with our founder & head Psychiatrist, Dr. Glezer, as your first step.

  • A reproductive psychiatrist evaluates and treats conditions across the reproductive lifespan, which often have a hormonal component. This includes premenstrual syndromes, perinatal and postpartum conditions, and perimenopausal challenges.

  • The primary distinction between a psychiatrist and a psychologist lies in their training and treatment approaches. Psychiatrists are medical doctors (MDs or DOs) who can prescribe medication, while psychologists hold doctoral degrees (PhDs or PsyDs) and focus on providing therapy. Therefore, psychiatrists typically manage mental health conditions with a combination of medication and therapy, whereas psychologists primarily utilize various forms of psychotherapy

  • Yes. I’m glad that you have already established a therapeutic relationship. I will gladly work with your current therapist to ensure comprehensive and collaborative care. In fact, because of the value I believe psychotherapy adds to a treatment plan, if you are not seeing me in psychotherapy I strongly request that you have an outside therapist with whom you are working.

  • No. We will work together to decide if medications would be a helpful part of your treatment plan. However, for many patients, psychotherapy and complimentary treatment can be very effective. There is good research on the success of psychotherapy and even how it changes our brain chemistry.

  • My goal is to provide personalized care without dictation of treatment by an insurance company or administrator. Therefore, at this time, I do not accept any insurance plans.

If you have a PPO plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company for out of network services. If so, I am happy to provide a monthly invoice (AKA superbill) to submit. I recommend you contact your insurance company and check. Here are several questions to consider asking:

** Do I have an annual deductive for outpatient mental health services with a psychiatrist?

** How much is my co-pay or co-insurance per visit?

** How many visits do I have annually?

** Are there limitations on the conditions/diagnoses that can be reimbursed?

You can also consider using your FSA (Flexible Savings Account) for reimbursement of service fees.

Free Phone Consult with Dr. Glezer for Prospective Patients

Please note: In order to provide a more customized and best standard of care, our practice is out-of-network.

We are a telehealth practice and see patients in Walnut Creek and across CA.
