Lucia Zaffuto, DO - Reproductive & Integrative Psychiatrist
BIO
Dr. Zaffuto graduated medical school with honors at Midwestern University (Glendale, AZ). She then transitioned to her Psychiatry Residency at UC Davis where she worked in the Women’s Mental Health Clinic and completed specialized training in Reproductive Psychiatry. Dr. Zaffuto is finishing additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis. She is a professional member of Postpartum Support International and a Pregnancy & Infant Loss Advocate.
Dr. Zaffuto enjoys working with women throughout their hormonal changes, using evidence-based, personalized psychiatric care that combines psychopharmacology, psychotherapy and integrative methods. She is passionate about supporting women during their transition into motherhood, which includes (but is not limited to) pre pregnancy and infertility, pregnancy, birth trauma, the postpartum period and beyond. Dr. Zaffuto has extensive experience working with trauma and practices trauma informed care.
She is trained and uses a variety of psychotherapy methods, including attachment focused, psychodynamic, mindfulness and CBT. She believes her role as a reproductive psychiatrist is to provide women with the up-to-date information available to help each woman understand her options.
