PMDD Therapy Specialists for Patients in California
Compassionate & Holistic Mental Health Care for Women with PMDD
PMDD is serious…but you are not alone.
✔ Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder is quite common. In fact, 75% of women experience physical and psychological symptoms premenstrually.
✔ But the unfortunate reality is that many clinicians aren't familiar with PMDD and patients are dismissed with a "grin and bear it" philosophy.
✔ Without pursuing PMDD therapy, this condition can be severe and disrupt your work, relationships, and overall well-being, making it essential to seek expert care.
Specialized PMDD Therapy for Women in California
If you experience severe mood swings, depression, anxiety, or emotional distress before your period, you may have Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)—a condition that affects far more than just your cycle. PMDD can really impact functioning in personal & professional spheres.
At Women’s Wellness Psychiatry, we specialize in holistic treatment of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder and provide expert support to women across California, including those in San Diego, Los Angeles, and beyond. Our PMDD specialists take a holistic, evidence-based approach, combining therapy, lifestyle medicine, and psychiatric care to help you regain balance and control.
Anna Glezer, MD - Founder; Head Reproductive & Integrative Psychiatrist
Highly Specialized PMDD Therapy for Women
Our PMDD specialists take a whole-person, individualized treatment approach, ensuring that every aspect of your well-being is holistically addressed.
Our treatment tools include:
✔ Medications – Medications help treat PMDD by balancing hormone levels, alleviating mood symptoms, and reducing physical discomfort.
✔ Hormonal Treatments — When the issue is hormonal sensitivity, hormones can be used to change a woman’s menstrual cycle to avoid the peaks/dips in hormones that trigger symptoms.
✔ Botanicals - There’s interesting research that using certain micronutrients or botanicals can alter hormonal cycles in the body and help to alleviate the symptoms of PMDD.
✔ Lifestyle Interventions - Exercise and nutritional adjustments have been studied to improve PMDD symptoms. We will guide you on these and other impactful interventions.
Why We’re Unique for PMDD Therapy in California
✔ Many hormone experts like gynecologists and endocrinologists do not have expertise in mental health syndromes, while many mental health clinicians like psychiatrists are not familiar with hormones. Our team specializes in bridging that gap to deliver specialized, holistic treatment.
✔ Our team is highly trained and specialized, and up to date on all of the latest PMDD treatments and research.
✔ We offer holistic, evidence-based holistic and personalized treatment tools — Medications, Hormonal Treatments, Botanicals, Lifestyle Interventions, and more — to effectively treat PMDD
✔ Our clinic was founded and is led by Dr. Anna Glezer, a Harvard & UCSF-trained Reproductive and Integrative Psychiatrist specializing in PMDD treatment, and a pioneer in women’s mental health.
✔ Our staffing model allows us to offer virtual, same- or next-week appointments across California (we are SF Bay Area based but see patients virtually as far as Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, & other cities).

My goal is to provide personalized care without dictation of treatment by an insurance company or administrator. Therefore, at this time, I do not accept any insurance plans.
If you have a PPO plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company for out of network services. If so, I am happy to provide a monthly invoice (AKA superbill) to submit. I recommend you contact your insurance company and check. Here are several questions to consider asking:
** Do I have an annual deductive for outpatient mental health services with a psychiatrist?
** How much is my co-pay or co-insurance per visit?
** How many visits do I have annually?
** Are there limitations on the conditions/diagnoses that can be reimbursed?
You can also consider using your FSA (Flexible Savings Account) for reimbursement of service fees.

Patients seeking a psychiatrist in across CA and who intend to pay out-of-pocket are not required to obtain a referral from a primary care physician. This allows for direct access to psychiatrists and empowers women to seek specialized treatment without navigating additional administrative steps. Our clinic is SF-based but we see patients virtually as far as Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, and many other cities.
